Tomorrow, May 3, is the German Overshoot Day. This date is calculated annually by the international non-profit organization Global Footprint Network. It marks the day of the year on which all the resources that the earth can provide us within one year would be used up worldwide if all the people on earth lived like the people in Germany. That means that we would need around three Earths a year to cover our country's annual resource requirements.
To prevent this day from moving even further forward, we must learn to act in a climate-conscious way and consume more sustainably.
At AVISTA OIL, we have been doing our part to conserve the earth's natural resources by saving waste oil from incineration and giving waste a new life for 74 years. As a pioneer in the industry, we have a DEKRA-certified process, which we call AVIeCO2, that has been proven to emit up to 90% less greenhouse gases than the production of base oil from primary refining. Since the introduction of the patented ESR technologies at our Dollbergen site in 2005, more than 82 million tons less crude oil have had to be produced thanks to this concept.
Find out here how you too can make your everyday life more environmentally conscious and sustainable: Today we are celebrating International Earth Day!
