Throwback to ICIS conference in London 2025

At the 29th ICIS World Base Oils and Lubricants Conference in London, an important industry gathering, our Head of Business Development & Marketing Mario Majic, together with Mark Olpin from Slicker Recycling, gave a presentation on ‘Circular economy in waste oil management - from collection to raw material - roles, challenges and opportunities for stakeholders’. Their presentation highlighted the key role of stakeholders in the life cycle of waste oil, the challenges facing the industry and the enormous potential for innovation and growth opportunities in this sector.

The two experts emphasised how essential collaboration across industries is to turn waste oil into a valuable resource. They emphasised the immense potential for reducing waste, conserving resources and closing the loop within the circular economy. Majic and Olpin are not only concerned with the separation and management of waste, but rather with developing sustainable solutions that benefit everyone.

A central point of their presentation was the importance of taking responsibility in the value creation cycle. Only through close co-operation can the full potential of waste oil management be realised and a more sustainable future promoted.

The aim of participating in this prestigious conference was not only to emphasise AVISTA OIL and Slicker Recycling's commitment to foresight, innovation and sustainability in the field of waste oil management, but above all to provide valuable impetus for the further development of the circular economy throughout the industry.
