AVISTA OIL publishes new PCF figures: lubricants with an average CO₂e reduction of 63%

AVISTA OIL updates PCF calculations: 63% lower CO₂e emissions in the lubricant portfolio on average

The continuous advancement of our circular technology is paying off: The newly calculated Product Carbon Footprints (PCF) according to DIN EN ISO 14067 once again confirm the clear ecological superiority of our lubricants based on KERNSOLVAT® compared to products made from primarily refined base oils.

The updated data basis delivers impressive results:

63% average CO₂e reduction across the entire lubricant portfolio compared to primarily refined base oils

1.471 kg CO₂e saved per kg of lubricant – an improvement of 28%

These values show that recycling used oils and producing high‑quality, regenerated base oils is an effective lever for reducing climate‑relevant emissions. By recalculating based on the ISO 14067 methodology, we have obtained an even more precise and reliable representation of our ecological advantage.

What does this mean for our customers and partners?

Our lubricants produced with KERNSOLVAT® base oil not only ensure the highest technical performance, but also make a significant contribution to the decarbonization of industrial applications.
The newly available PCF values increase transparency, comparability and traceability along the entire value chain. Companies can now assess and document their own CO₂e balances more accurately – an increasingly important decision‑making criterion in industrial environments.

Another step in a consistently closed loop

For more than 60 years, AVISTA OIL has relied on the circular economy – from collecting used oils to re‑refining and producing high‑quality base oils and lubricants. The renewed improvements in the CO₂e balance show that our closed‑loop system sets benchmarks not only technically, but also ecologically.
